Estimator Hillsborough Somerset County New Jersey

Lead the estimating process for excavation and underground utility projects involving water main replacements, sewer and storm drain systems, and related civil infrastructure work. This role is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and bid proposals for both public and private projects. You’ll review plans and specifications, analyze subcontractor and vendor pricing, and work closely with project management and field operations to ensure accurate, competitive bids.
Join an established heavy civil contractor recognized for its expertise in excavation, trenching, and utility construction. You’ll play a key role in preconstruction planning and value engineering for large-scale sitework and infrastructure projects, helping secure and deliver successful outcomes across the region.
Key Qualifications
• Proven experience estimating excavation and underground utility projects (water, sewer, storm)
• Skilled in cost estimating, takeoffs, and bid preparation
• Proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam, or similar estimating software
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
